Someone to Talk To Without Judgement: What to Expect

Looking for someone to talk to without judgement does not mean you have to arrive with a clear story. A good conversation can begin with “I do not really know where to start.”

You choose the starting point

You can talk about a specific event, a general feeling, a relationship, work, loneliness, or simply the fact that you have been holding too much in.

You can pause or change direction

You do not have to answer every question. You can say that you would rather not discuss something, take a pause, or move to another subject.

Respectful does not mean consequence-free

A non-judgemental listener can respect your experience while still being clear that immediate danger, abuse, or a health crisis needs qualified help.
